Donald John Trump was the 45th president of the United States of America from 2017-2021. Trump had a different background than other presidents. He was the first president that had no prior political experience and was instead a celebrity and businessman. However, he decided to run for president in 2016 after years of hinting at it, with a controversial slogan: "Make America Great Again". Some people said it was racist and offensive, but others disagree. Trump was and still is one of the, if not the most controversial president. Most Democrats and a few Republicans didn't like Trump. He reversed a lot of what Barack Obama did, and even said that Barack Obama would go down as one of the worst presidents. (This source for legal reasons) Trump was able to cut taxes and passed many criminal justice reforms, but other accomplishments that are controversial was building hundreds of miles of the border wall at the Mexican border and repealing a lot of Obamacare. In the 2020 election, he claimed that it was fraudulent and that Joe Biden didn't really win, but no evidence of election fraud has been recognized as legitimate. On January 6, 2021, while Congress was certifying the results, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, which hurt Trump's reputation for a lot of people. He was impeached for a second time, the only president impeached twice. It caused him to be banned from several social media companies. He responded by creating his own social media site, Truth Social. He did not attend Biden's inauguration on January 20, 2021. Much controversy has surrounded Trump; many people, mostly Democrats, believe that Trump tried to overthrow the government, while most Republicans believe he is just being framed for it because the Democrats wanted to get rid of an opponent. Trump has been criminally indicted four times, and payed bail once. However, he has not been sent to prison, house arrest, or anything like so. At this time, opponents say Trump is corrupt, racist and a horrible person, while supporters say Trump is simply being targeted because of his rivalry with the party and his influence.

Birth

Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York City.

Post-presidency

Trump has continued to be involved in politics, and continues to rally that the 2020 election was fraudulent. He has announced his candidacy in the upcoming 2024 election and is currently campaigning. Classified documents were found in his home and he has been charged with crimes, but he has not been found guilty at this time.
