Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States from 1901 - 1909. He was shortly the vice president for William McKinley until he died in 1901. Roosevelt was a war hero in the Spanish-American War and during his presidency was known for his extensive wildlife conservation policies. He is regarded as one of the better presidents in American history. Roosevelt ran again in the 1912 election, while doing so splitting the Republican party and giving the Democrats the opportunity to win.

Death

Roosevelt died on January 6, 1919 in Oyster Bay, New York.
