John Fitzgerald Kennedy served as the 35th president from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. Kennedy was able to defeat vice president Richard Nixon in the 1960 election. Kennedy was president during the Cuban Missile Crisis, which was the closest the United States and the Soviet Union got to nuclear war. Many wonder what would have happened if Kennedy wasn't assassinated, since he differed in many issues compared to his successor and vice president, Lyndon B. Johnson.

Birth

Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Death

Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963.
